United States VS Japan

The United States is leading the worldwide statistics on teen pregnancy percentage; accounting for 1 out of 3 teenage girls expected to give birth before their twentieth birthday. about 820 thousand girls become pregnant on average within the United States annually.
this contrasts with Japan's records of teen pregnancy, 4 per every thousand girls.
 the reason being, are Japanese society's frowning upon teens who do get pregnant and the negative attitude given to them. teens who get pregnant are " advised " to quit school or abort. However; they don't find themselves pushed towards the alternative of adoption, something which is scarcely heard of in Japan.

blessing?

Despite society's frowning on the topic of teenage motherhood; some teens take the news as a blessing, a life changing miracle of life that came unexpectedly but is welcomed nonetheless.
Sadly, this is not always the case

1 out of 3 girls living in the United States are expected to get pregnant;
this number changes depending on the state. Despite efforts to promote teen pregnancy, such as national teen pregnancy awareness month (May), teenage girls drop out of school on a daily bases, unable to provide for the new found responsibility their bad decision making brought them.

My Reasons

Teen Mom.

I chose this topic for a number of reasons; I chose it because it matters. I wrote it because it's something affecting teens worldwide and a topic of major concern. I wrote it so that maybe, in the slightest way, the information I provide helps raise awareness and perhaps prevent teens from making reckless, life-changing decisions. The reason I chose this topic is because I believe it to be among the most critical and delicate topic surrounding the youth of today's world.
